Integrated Preschool Program

Just Kids’ integrated program combines students with and without disabilities in the same least restrictive environment classroom comprised of 18 students, two teachers and one teacher assistant. Utilizing the Creative Curriculum, a special education teacher teamed with an early childhood teacher collaborates to provide an enriching language and literacy based environment. The special educator’s role is to adapt the environment for each individual student with special needs. The early childhood teacher’s role is to ensure the curriculum is developmentally appropriate, meeting all the goals of the Creative Curriculum. Children are grouped based on a number of factors including management needs and developmental levels. If a student requires additional support a teacher assistant is also part of the team.
